Saint Laurent church
A church dating from the 13th, early 14th century which has undergone many modifications.
In August 1944, the explosion of the ammunition camp of Chemilly destroyed most of the stained glass windows.
The three windows of the choir represent the crucifixion and they are remarkable for their originality. It was a master glassmaker from Paris who carried out the work.
The lavender workshop
“Lavender Workshop” de Chichery is an association which has set itself the goal of cultivating lavender in the commune of Chichery.
The members produce lavandin water and lavandin essence without forgetting these little cushions filled with lavender which perfume our cupboards so pleasantly!
The lavender workshop is present on the Chichery market every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. village square and don’t miss the open house of the association on Sunday April 3 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the town hall. Free entry.
Vines and wine in Chichery
In the past, the vine was very present on the slopes of Chichery.
Totally destroyed by phylloxera in the 19th century, it remains today in the memory of Chicherians and Chicherians thanks to the presence of a saint vincent cross and the existence of Saint Vincent Committee.
The GAEC of Chichery
The GAEC of Chichery is a group of farmers created 50 years ago by 8 farmers to reduce work strain.
Today it is the oldest GAEC in Yonne. He specializes in themilk-cereal farm and raises a hundred cows of the Prim’Holstein breed.
