(Chicago) Chicago Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall will have surgery on his right knee and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Hall was injured when he was hit by Michael Eyssimont of the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 9. He returned to action last weekend and played in two games before missing Wednesday’s 7-3 loss in Columbus.
In 10 games this season, he has scored two goals and added as many assists.
The team placed Hall and forward Andreas Athanasiou on long-term injured reserve Thursday. The registration of Athanasiou, injured in the groin, is retroactive to November 9.
Forwards Joey Anderson and Cole Guttman were recalled from Rockford’s AHL affiliate.
In last place, the Hawks have lost their last five games and will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.
