Most of the time, Marcus does his hair for Mr. and Mrs. Tout-le-Monde in his hair salon Chez Marcus, which he opened in 2015 in the Saint-Roch district of Quebec. The young man has just moved into a larger room, because he wanted to have a more convivial place, with a refreshment bar.

I really want my clients to have a good time in the salon, as if they came to my place, they have a coffee, a small glass of wine, and will want to come back.

Marcus Villeneuve

Originally from Saguenay, Marcus Villeneuve, also an entrepreneur as owner of his salon, started from nothing, but has always had a passion for fashion and advertising campaigns. “When I did my hairdressing course in Alma, I already dreamed of going to New York to do my hair! The supreme dream would be Celine Dion! I’m a big fan, so I would love to style it. ”

Marcus’ career exploded when he met Véronique Cloutier, for whom he fell in love with it. “She is warm, everything is easy with her, we have a really good time,” he said. I am aware that there are ladies from Rimouski who come to the salon just because they want to have their hair done by Véro’s hairdresser. There was a real impact, my life has changed. It gives me great visibility. ”

In a telephone interview, Véronique Cloutier tells us that Marcus is endearing, full of talent and that they both share the same sense of humor. “He is extraordinary! I love it ! “, she says.

“A hairdresser is someone who is in our bubble, but even more so for me, because we can see each other for several days in a row, sometimes for long days, from very early in the morning to very late at night. We meet in all kinds of moods. There are days when I’m fine, others less when I’m tired, so it’s important to have a human relationship that is true, that is solid, where we understand each other. So there are days when we talk less, others more, ”explains the host.

Marcus understands that public figures like Vero need to be surrounded by people they trust. “I go to Véro, I am immersed in his everyday life, there is Louis, his children. She’s having problems like you and me. We are accomplices, so everything remains between her and me, you will not know anything! Marcus said with a smile.

I know he’s discreet, that he doesn’t tell everyone about my life, I trust him completely, that’s why our relationship is so precious.

Véronique Cloutier, about Marcus

His inspirations

As for his hair, he’s the one behind the host’s bright golden blonde. “We have very heated debates with Marcus on hairstyle, in the fun and laughter! », Says Véro.

Marcus is very present on social networks, which, for him, constitutes a real business card. On Instagram, he is also inspired by the hairdressers and hairstyles of stars like Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Heidi Klum. “They dare to do a lot of things with their hair, they are daring,” he emphasizes.

“Marcus has his tastes. He has a big fantasy: that I wear a big, very, very long Ariana Grande ponytail, said Vero, laughing. Marcus is young! He’s on top of everything hot. He keeps me up to date with trends. I don’t want to look too young, but I also don’t want to age faster than my age! ”

The hairdresser looks a lot at hairstyling trends all over the world. “For example, I see that most of the big stars use wigs that give a very natural look, we change the color, the length of the hair. It doesn’t damage the hair, and the person doesn’t spend an hour getting their hair done! In Quebec too, we also use wigs. But who ? “It remains a secret! He said.

“No, I haven’t tried the wig yet, even though Marcus wanted me to wear one at the Gemini gala,” says Véro.

Marcus adores his life in Quebec punctuated by many trips back and forth to Montreal. “I have an assistant who is invaluable, I have 10 hairdressers in the salon in whom I have total confidence. ”

And is there the Marcus brand? “Hairdressing is linked to our moods and I must say that I am strong on the spur of the moment! I rarely do the same. I am going to change with the seasons, we are going to cut, make bangs, lighten the hair, darken it. My clients sit down, but do not know what face they are going to come out with! It feels good to change your mind! Marcus says.

Series At Marcus will be presented on the Noovo site from November 3.
