Cheeses from the Graindorge brand, belonging to Lactalis, potentially contaminated with listeria

After Buitoni pizzas and Kinder chocolates, these are cheeses that are potentially infected with a bacteria dangerous to health. This Tuesday evening, our colleagues from Agence France Presse indicate that the government site Rappel Conso has just launched a national recall campaign for six Graindorge brand cheeses, specialized in the purchase and processing of raw milk, belonging since 2016 to the world leader in dairy products, the Lactalis group, based in Mayenne.

The cheeses concerned have been marketed everywhere in France since mid-March in the Auchan, Leclerc, Casino, Carrefour, Intermarché, Cora, Système U, Franprix, Schiever supermarkets and the “Nous Anti Gaspi” grocery stores. Consumers who have purchased them are invited to throw them in the trash or bring them back to the store.

The recalled cheeses are likely to contain Listeria monocytogenes, bacteria responsible for listeriosis. It is a rare but serious disease with an incubation period of up to 8 weeks. It can have very serious consequences in pregnant women and newborns, as well as in people with weakened immune systems (immunocompromised people and the elderly).

People who have consumed these cheeses and who have a fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, should quickly consult their doctor, notifying him of this consumption.
