The collision occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Route 108, near rang Saint-Alexandre, in Beauceville.

According to the first information provided by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the two motorcycles were traveling east on Route 108, while the van was moving in the opposite direction, to the west.

The two motorcyclists, from Beauce, were seriously injured and there was fear for their lives. Their deaths were confirmed a few hours after the accident.

As for the driver of the van, he would also have suffered significant injuries, but his life would be out of danger.

Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene following the crash. Route 108 was also closed to traffic to allow an SQ reconstruction expert to analyze the scene.

At the start of the evening, it was not possible to know whether the driver of the van or the motorcyclists had deviated from his lane to cause the collision. This detail will be determined during the investigation, said Sergeant Hélène St-Pierre, spokesperson for the SQ.
