Emergency services were called around 5:30 p.m. to rescue a person in distress in the Côte des Pionniers area. Arrived on the scene, the emergency services found that the man, a septuagenarian, was in a “water dump”, that is to say a point of water which flows into the St. Lawrence River.
The victim was pulled from the water by emergency services. The man was transported to a hospital where there were fears for his life. His death was unfortunately pronounced at the hospital.
“There is no investigation since everything suggests that it was an accidental fall,” said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Hélène St-Pierre.
