Chaudière-Appalaches | Imminent immersion at the Maritime Museum

Many options are available to us for diving this summer, but the Musée maritime du Québec, located in L’Islet, in Chaudière-Appalaches, offers a rather original new one: the virtual tour of the wreck of the Scotsmana two-masted sailboat 25 meters long.

Equipped with a virtual reality helmet, explorers will be able to explore, thanks to a 3D reconstruction, the carcass of this merchant ship built in 1834 before sinking in 1846 off the coast of Bic. Two other physically accessible museum boats also remain to be discovered on site.

In addition, the river park inaugurated last year will still be accessible this season; it is an open-air exhibit showcasing 27 artifacts and 14 interpretation stations.

Finally, a new spherical augmented reality structure, ESPACEment, a project by artist Jean-Sébastien Veilleux, allows you to observe a series of photographs taken from the St. Lawrence. With a viewer, we immerse ourselves in these 360 degree representations.
