(Saint-Janvier-De-Joly) A tugboat which was in a construction zone on Highway 20 was hit by a car Sunday evening in the Saint-Janvier-de-Joly sector, in Chaudière-Appalaches.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the collision occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Highway 20 eastbound at kilometer 268.
The vehicle hit a tugboat which was working on the highway and the collision occurred in a construction zone, said Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the SQ.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly used the wrong lane. He was not injured in the accident.
The tugboat, whose age is not yet known, was taken to hospital and his life is feared.
An accident reconstruction specialist and investigators were dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene.
Only one lane is currently open eastbound on Highway 20.
