(Montreal) A man in his twenties is wanted by the police on Thursday after he went swimming in the Etchemin River in Saint-Anselme, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was notified at midnight on the night of Wednesday to Thursday by “the relatives of the victim [qui] worried that he was not back, ”explains Sergeant Hugues Beaulieu, of the SQ.
The man had gone to swim in the Etchemin River near the Rouillard Falls. “He’s a man who used to do it,” says Mr. Beaulieu.
“Last night, there were police officers on foot who made the banks with the assistance of the fire department of the place. And this morning [jeudi]the divers as well as the Sûreté du Québec helicopter moved to the scene,” explained Sergeant Beaulieu.
The search was still continuing Thursday at the beginning of the afternoon.
