(Château-Richer) A 79-year-old man who was logging on his land died on Saturday when a tree fell, reported the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The police reported having been called around 12:30 p.m. to go near Rang de Saint-Achillée Ouest, in Château-Richer, near Quebec City.
The victim was reportedly seriously injured while working to cut a tree with another man in a wooded area, about two kilometers from the road.
The injured logger was rescued by the other man and transported by snowmobile to the edge of the row awaiting first responders, said Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay, a spokesman for the SQ.
Resuscitation maneuvers were carried out, but the death was pronounced at the scene
An investigator and a forensic identification technician were dispatched to the scene to shed light on the death.
