Charlotte Hornets | Miles Bridges banned from entering Canada

Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets was denied entry to Canada due to legal issues, a person with knowledge of the matter told The Associated Press on Monday.

The source spoke anonymously because the Hornets are trying through appropriate channels to get Bridges into the country for a game in Toronto on Monday night.

Bridges is serving three years of probation in connection with a June 2022 domestic violence case involving the mother of his two children.

She accused Bridges of molesting her in front of the children.

He must comply with a 10-year protective order related to the woman, weekly drug and marijuana testing and restitution, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Bridges turned himself in on Oct. 13, after an arrest warrant was issued for an alleged violation of a protection order.

The warrant was issued on January 2, but was not executed until October. According to court documents, Bridges “unlawfully” and “knowingly” violated the protection order and “continually contacted the victim.” This matter is pending.

Bridges was suspended by the NBA for the first 10 games of the season, after missing all of last season.

He is third among his team with an average of 19.6 points per game in 14 games.

The Hornets have lost four straight games.

The team’s first and seventh point scorers, LaMelo Ball and Mark Williams will not play. They are injured in the ankle and back, respectively.

Fourth pointer Gordon Hayward is a doubtful case, dealing with a stomach virus.

The Raptors have won just once in their last six outings.
