And yet, Charlize Theron was indeed afraid for her safety, to the point of requiring the presence of a member of the production by her side at all times. This request, the actress made after a heated argument with Tom Hardy. Arriving three hours late to shoot a scene, Charlize called her partner “adisrespectful” and demanded that he be paid several hundred thousand dollars per minute of delay.
“He walked up to her and said, ‘What did you tell me?’ He was very aggressive. She really felt threatened, and that was a turning point, because then she said, ‘I want someone to protect me.’ We assigned a producer to be by his side at all times“says cinematographer Mark Goellnicht in the book.
Charlize Theron confirms: “It ended up going all over the place, and we thought that sending a producer could balance things out. A lot of things that I felt was Doug’s fault.
