Charles Leclerc will start from pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix, taking advantage of a penalty against Max Verstappen

Like last year, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) will start from pole position on the Spa Francorchamps circuit. Second in qualifying, six tenths behind Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing), on Saturday July 27 in the Belgian rain, the Monegasque took advantage of a penalty against the Dutchman, who exceeded his quota of engines used since the start of the season. The winner of the Monaco Grand Prix this season will start alongside Sergio Pérez, who came within three thousandths of elimination in Q2.

The second row will be British with Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Lando Norris (McLaren), while Esteban Ocon (Alpine), the first Frenchman on the grid, will start in ninth position. After his penalty, Max Verstappen will start the race in 11th place, sharing the sixth row with Pierre Gasly. After a wet qualifying, the Belgian Grand Prix should be spared from the rain.
