Charles Leblanc strikes again from safety, in a Marlins backhand

(Miami) The Quebecer Charles Leblanc of the Miami Marlins struck again from a safe place, Monday, as in his first two games in major league baseball.

Posted yesterday at 11:12 p.m.

Author of a single in the third, the 26-year-old Laval resident increased his record to four in 11 (.364), in three games in the big leagues.

The third baseman, however, made a first mistake in MLB, making a bad throw in fourth on a ground ball by Kyle Farmer of the Cincinnati Reds. The latter won 3-1, inflicting a fourth straight loss to the Marlins.

Leblanc hit a first career homer on Sunday, a solo slap.

Albert Almora hit a two-run double for the Reds, who earned a third win in a row.

The Marlins have lost their last eight games at home.

The two clubs will face each other again on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Marlins stadium.

From August 5 to 11, Don Mattingly’s club will visit the Cubs and Phillies.
