The period of mourning is now over in the UK. Almost a week after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, each of the members of the Crown has resumed their duties. Kate Middleton and Prince William also went to Windsor to thank the castle staff for the flawless organization of the funeral. As for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, they wisely returned to Los Angeles, and in all discretion, to find their two children Archie, 3 years old and Lilibet, 1 year old. A long-awaited comeback for the couple for whom the affronts have been numerous.
One of them precisely concerns Archie and Lilibet. The death of Queen Elizabeth II shook up the order of succession and reshuffled the cards regarding the titles of each crowned head. Archie and Lilibet were also to become prince and princess, an assignment that King Charles III finally refused in view of the distance of Meghan and Harry from the Crown. This decision, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex struggled to digest it, furious to see their past choices put their children on the sidelines.
But it could be that the king has finally changed his mind. As Katie Nicholl pointed out in the latest episode of True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beatwhose remarks were reported by the site of the DailyMail, Charles III would indeed consider making them prince and princess. To do this, a condition must be met and it is non-negotiable. Charles III wants to make sure he can trust the couple with his eyes closed and that he can rely on the Sussexes despite the latest past events and the many tensions that exist between Meghan, Harry and the rest of the monarchy.
For now, Archie and Lilibet are still considered “Master” and “Mrs.” on the official website of the royal family. It remains to be seen whether Meghan and Harry will be ready to make this sacrifice, they who from the start have insisted on their independence and their desire to stay as far away as possible from the protocol (very well applied by the Princess Charlotte) and the bad sides of the Crown.
