He piloted Touk, the take-out concept of the Parliament restaurant, opened a huge vegan restaurant in Vancouver (Nightshade), developed the Tiramisu menu, in the new Hampton & Homewood Suites in Chinatown and, most recently, inaugurated “Chanthy Yen”. at Time Out Market.

This counter is a summary of the “pan-Canadian” cuisine of someone who grew up in Ontario, lived on the west coast and spent a few years in Montreal, among other places.

Chanthy Yen, personal chef to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has opened a counter at Time Out Market.

Born to Cambodian parents who did not have easy immigration, he quickly learned to manage in the kitchen and never hesitated to mix everything.

The menu at Time Out bears witness to this, with its coconut mussels, butter, lime and nori bourgots and Vietnamese coffee flan. There’s even a steak and fries through it.

To discover this new gourmet market offer, why not take advantage of the Gourmet Tour, which takes place on Saturday, May 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors buy a $36 loaded Time Out Market card that will allow them to order four dishes, at the counter of their choice. Each chef/restaurant creates a $9 specialty for this discovery evening.
