Chantal Goya has decided to say everything about this very special relationship that her husband Jean-Jacques Debout had with Sylvie Vartan!

Chantal Goya celebrated her 81st birthday on June 10, 2023… and she still has the same energy! Age does not seem to have any influence on the one who continues to make young and old sing for more than 60 years with her enchanted nursery rhymes. An incredible journey that the show TPMP People on C8 wanted to greet last Saturday evening, while the unalterable interpreter of Pandi Panda is once again embarking on the roads of France with a tour “On the enchanted road” with a stopover on October 14 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. She who was destined for a career as an actress, with a promising start, notably under the camera of Jean-Luc Godard in his film Male Female released in 1966, will nevertheless become a singer and muse of the children thanks to her husband, Jean-Jacques Debout, renowned author and composer, with whom she has lived for nearly 60 years! Their meeting took place in 1964, when they were both invited to a wedding. This is where they see each other for the first time. “He is not even dressed, he has a sailor sweater, he has crazy blond hair, he sits at the piano, he looks at everyone and he sees me”she remembered on the show 50′ Inside, in April 2022. That’s when the magic happens. Jean-Jacques Debout speaks to Chantal Goya and gives her an incredible prediction:“He approached, and he said to me, and this is true: ‘I feel like I’ve always known you, we will get married, we will have two children, you will be famous at 30 and you will sing at the Paris Opera”, reported the artist. “Everything he said happened”, she revealed. A real fairy tale!

“Oh la la: 100 bikers in the rue des Saints-Pères!”

And this fusional couple has gone through all the ages, the hard times but also the happy days like those of the yéyé era. Highly visible, they were on all the outings, all the shows of Maritie and Gilbert Carpentier and knew how to keep, from this time, unalterable friendships. On the set of TPMP People, facing Bernard Montiel, the one who forever embodies the beautiful “Marie-Rose” explained how close Jean-Jacques and she were to the duo Sylvie Vartan and Johnny Hallyday… Sylvie and I were expecting our children together, David was born in August (in 1966, editor’s note) and my son in June. So he (Johnny) came home and as Jean-Jacques was in New York, I said to myself ‘Oh la la, what am I going to do with him’ because it’s not easy to be a Johnny at home ! Sylvie was I don’t know where, and Johnny said to me (she takes a big voice): ‘I’m going to put on Jean-Jacques’ pajamas, I’m going to get into Jean-Jacques’ bed. I told him : no, but that’s not right, right?! remembers Chantal Goya. And to add cautiously: “Just in case, I went to the children’s room, which was locked, because I know the marmoset… but afterwards, he was straight, he went to his room but he said to me: ‘I can bring some friends’, yes Johnny, you’re at home… Oh la la: 100 bikers in the rue des Saints-Pères!. ..”explains, still amused, and under the laughter and smiles of the chroniclers, the singer with the childish voice.

She adds : “Sylvie was not there, she did a lot of choreography in the United States, I really like Sylvie…” The replacement for Matthieu Delormeau then revives it: “What isbinds you?”. And Chantal Goya to explain that the couple was born under her eyes, and thanks to her husband: “Our children and all this beautiful story… it was a little girl (Sylvie Vartan, editor’s note) who one day met Jean-Jacques Debout, she had arrived from Bulgaria, and Jean-Jacques wrote him his first song “All my friends” and for Johnny, he wrote “For me life will begin“ in the sixties. He knew them very very young, he introduced them, and he understood that they both loved each other, so he decided to leave the tour to leave them together…” A very nice story indeed…
