Changing air, an ecological fable by Jeanne Macaigne, guest of the Printemps du livre de Grenoble

A Change of Scenery, Jeanne Macaigne

The view of the editor, Les Fourmis Rouges

In its neighborhood, a House lives happily with its inhabitants. She likes to warm them up during the winter, to comfort them on the back-to-school days, and in the summer, to shelter their secrets. But one day, the inhabitants no longer manage to understand each other and give way to anger and resentment. Their conflicts damage the House and begin to destroy it.

Determined to fix things before being completely demolished, the House decides to leave with its inhabitants for a change of scenery. One night, she leaves to travel around the world and ends up settling in a little corner of paradise. In this new place, everyone rediscovers the pleasure of being together and the ties that unite them. But one day, the arguments resume…

In Change of sceneryJeanne Macaigne’s illustrations full of fantasy, humor and poetry, are at the service of a story that speaks both of ecology and of the relationship with others.
