chances of medals in super-G, the qualifications of the cross in snowboarding… What not to miss on Sunday

The Paralympians are back on the slopes on Sunday March 6. After launching the Paralympic Games in Beijing the day before, the athletes are expected to compete in various events on this second day. On the French side, there will be several chances of medals in alpine skiing, with in particular Marie Bochet and Arthur Bauchet on the super-G.

Para alpine skiing: super-G men and women (all categories) from 3 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on France.tv then France 3

Barely hours after winning his first Paralympic title on the downhill, Arthur Bauchet is back at the National Alpine Skiing Center in Yanqing. The French stars in the standing category are tackling the super-G, a discipline that had smiled four years ago in Pyeongchang on Marie Bochet, since she had gone for the Olympic title. The 28-year-old Savoyard will be keen to make up for it after her disappointment on Saturday and the loss of her ski. Jules Segers, Oscar Burnham and Manoël Bourdenx will try to climb on the podium.

Like Saturday, the three categories (visually impaired, standing and seated) will follow one another. Gold medalist in the super-G at the Lillehammer world championships in January and bronze medalist in the downhill, Hyacinthe Deleplace, accompanied by his guides Valentin Giraud-Moine and Maxime Jourdan, will aim for the title. Finally, Lou Braz-Dagand will be present in the seated category.

Para snowboarding: men’s and women’s cross qualifications from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. on France.tv then France 3

It’s time for the big jump at Genting Snow Park. Snowboarders begin their Games with cross country qualifications. For his first participation – he was injured four years ago – Maxime Montaggioni will be followed closely. The Marseillais, world champion in the discipline, is aiming for gold. He will accompany Laurent Vaglica and Mathias Menendez for the men.

The only female athlete in the tricolor delegation with Marie Bochet, Cécile Hernandez will be keen to defend her bronze medal obtained four years ago. The snowboarder from Angles, in the Pyrenees, narrowly got her ticket to Beijing after a legal imbroglio concerning the abolition of her category. Now engaged in LL2 (moderate disorder of the functioning of the knees and / or legs), she will want above all to seek to validate her ticket for the finals, which will be held on Monday March 7.
