Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Handball will not go to the European Cup

Big disappointment on Tuesday in Hungary for the yellows and blacks, who lost 31 to 25 against the Hungarian team of Féjer Bal Veszprem.

It was the second leg of the second qualifying round of the EHL European Cup. “We are eliminated before the group stage by a team that is well below us, it’s a fault, it’s a mistake, it’s lamentable” declares Alain Poncet, at the end of the match.

Chambéry had yet won the Hungarians in the first leg (29 – 25) but they failed to cope on the field and in the charged atmosphere of the opponent. Team Chambé led at the break and failed to keep pace in the second half.

The analysis of the President of the club is without appeal “It was especially in the first leg that we should have widened the gap more. We could have finished the match with 10, 12 points. We weren’t able to do that. We pay the consequences in cash”. The club president adds “We had a very bad second half. We were up against a team that had nothing to lose. In a few minutes fate changes”.
