CH: The mighty Bruins are in town

The Montreal Canadiens will face the best team in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Tuesday evening, since the Boston Bruins will be visiting the Quebec metropolis.

These are such a striking force that they have almost double the points of the Habs in the standings.

Indeed, the formation of Massachusetts has collected 78 since the start of the campaign and prances at the top of the general classification of the NHL, without any competition. Its differential of +81 is also without competition.

For its part, the Habs have only 43 points in the standings and are in last place in the Atlantic section. However, casually, the CH grabbed a few points here and there, having won five of its last 10 games, including Saturday’s, a 3-2 win in overtime at the expense of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“I’ve been a lifelong Canadiens fan and I’ve followed this rivalry for a very long time. It’s very special to be able to be part of it now,” said defenseman Arber Xhekaj, who will face the Bruins for the first time in his young career.

“Boston and Montreal, it’s a big rivalry,” said head coach Martin St-Louis. We have a lot of young players. It will perhaps raise the level of commitment more easily. These are fun games to play.”

Montembeault in net

It is Samuel Montembeault who will have the task of facing the powerful “Oursons” in the evening. Jake Allen was also in the morning training of the Habs. The goalkeeper seems to have recovered from the upper body injury that has plagued him since January 9. Cayden Primeau was also drill, but worked as a third man.

Additionally, center Sean Monahan skated with teammates, but still wore a no-contact vest.

After the duel against the Bruins, the Canadiens will complete their five-game stay at home by hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.
