Defender Mattias Norlinder and forward Emil Heineman are the last two players to be cut from the Canadiens’ training camp.
As the two do not have to go through waivers, they will report directly to the Laval Rocket of the American League.
This means that the team’s roster of 23 players is complete and that Martin St-Louis will begin the season with three goalkeepers on hand.
After four seasons with the Rocket, young Cayden Primeau will have the chance to assert himself by sharing the task with Samuel Montembault and Jake Allen.
Above all, we will have to see how long the menage a trois lasts, a situation which is not the norm in the National League.
Interesting camp
Although he sometimes seemed to be plateauing in Laval, Primeau, who is 24 years old, had a good training camp this fall.
This is also the goalkeeper who has compiled the best statistics since the start of camp.
In 87 minutes of play, he has a goals allowed average of 2.05 and an efficiency rate of .932.
