(Montreal) Veteran Kei Kamara has asked CF Montreal management to trade him to another team.
In a message sent to his Twitter account on Wednesday, the 38-year-old striker did not give a specific explanation for his request to play elsewhere, but he said the offseason was mentally difficult for him.
He admits to having believed that he had found in Montreal a place to end his playing career and possibly do something else afterwards, “but it seems that it was only a dream”, he added in his message.
The striker adds that he has no regrets about his stay with CF Montreal in 2022.
Kei Kamara, who is a native of Sierra Leone, was one of the few players absent at the opening of CF Montreal’s training camp last Monday at the Olympic Stadium.
Last season, he scored 9 goals in a Montreal uniform after signing a one-year contract with an option for the 2023 season. Before joining CF Montreal, he had scored 130 goals in 15 seasons with various teams of Major League Soccer (MLS).
