“There is absolutely no will or desire” on the part of CF Montreal to return to the Montreal Impact, according to the club’s supporters association. The group reported on Wednesday a meeting that would have taken place recently with President Joey Saputo.
“There will be no modification or compromise, besides possibly some” minor “changes to the logo which could perhaps be envisaged,” he continues, by means of a press release.
The relationship between the club and the Supporters’ Association could be maintained “on condition of accepting” the new identity of CF Montreal.
“Obviously, it is impossible for us to feel the same sense of attachment and to encourage the team with the same passion that has driven us for almost twenty years. ”
