CF Montreal confirms the acquisition of Alistair Johnston

The rumor had been circulating for several days, but it is now done. Canadian defenseman Alistair Johnston was acquired from Nashville SC by CF Montreal for a total of $ 1 million.

Alistair Johnston, 23, has signed a two-season agreement with Montreal, which will keep him in the Quebec metropolis until 2023. His contract also comes with options for the years 2024 and 2025.

In return, Montreal will send $ 750,000 of general allowance money in 2022 and $ 250,000 in 2023 to Nashville. The Tennessee club could benefit from 10% of a possible transfer on this amount of 1 million dollars.

CF Montreal’s sporting director, Olivier Renard, said he was “very happy to welcome this young Canadian who had a great desire to join the club” by way of a press release.
