With Hyphenation, rapper Pihpoh is making his comeback. A new EP with six unreleased tracks he worked on during confinement. “It was a very complicated time“, entrusts the artist to France 3 Franche-Comté.”These two years have been a bit like a suspended moment“, continues Pihpoh, who named his EP in reference to this artistic break.
2021 is therefore the year of renewal. Love, friendship, escape or routine… in his new texts, the 35-year-old rapper sweeps over all subjects, with sensitivity and always the same rigor of writing. “I take more and more care of my pen, I reread myself a lot, he explains. I try to convey my vision of things, of everything that can surround me, as accurately as possible“.
I’m very allergic to routine, to rehearsals, it’s even something that can worry me. I always need to move, meet new people and travel.

Since 2013, the Belfort rapper has performed in France and internationally. He opened for groups IAM and Deluxe and for artists like Orelsan, Gad Elmaleh and Claudio Capéo. His performances have opened the stages of popular festivals, Les Eurockéennes de Belfort or Solidays. Before going on stage, he was a musician in the Paris metro.
For this EP, Pihpoh invited two artists: Gaël Faye on the title Keep your tears and Claudio Capéo for We have time. The latter is a long-time friend. “There is a real story of friendship with Claudio [Capéo]. He held out his hand to me on a lot of things, says Pihpoh. I opened Zénith for him, a lot. I have been on tour with him. There are big bonds that have been created, with his team as well. They are really good people“.

For Pihpoh, the caesura is now a thing of the past. The rapper will be touring all of France in 2022 and is already working on a new album, his second after By waves, released in 2016.
