(Metz) The painting The origin of the world by Courbet (1866) was tagged with red paint early Monday afternoon at the Center Pompidou-Metz, to which it was loaned by the Musée d’Orsay, we learned from the Metz museum.


The work was “protected by glass”, the museum’s communications department told AFP, indicating that the police were on site to carry out analyses.
