(Saint-Cyrille-De-Wendover) A five-year-old girl drowned Monday evening in the swimming pool of a single-family residence in Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover, in Centre-du-Québec.
Emergency services were called around 6:30 p.m. Monday to go to this house located on the main street of this small municipality near Drummondville. The girl was then found unresponsive in the swimming pool.
“Obviously, there are resuscitation maneuvers that were performed on the young girl. Unfortunately, his death was declared on his arrival at the hospital, ”said Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay, who is spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
SQ investigators, crime scene technicians, as well as a coroner went to the scene on Monday evening to try to clarify the circumstances surrounding this drowning.
In the middle of the evening, the provincial police force was not able to specify if the young girl was supervised when she was near the swimming pool or if the swimming pool was protected by a fence.
