(Baie-Du-Febvre) A motorcyclist who left the road on Saturday morning in Baie-du-Febvre, in the Centre-du-Québec region, succumbed to his injuries.
A citizen contacted emergency services around 8:30 a.m. after discovering a motorcycle on the road. The driver of the motorcycle was lying in a nearby field. The accident would have occurred in the minutes before it was discovered, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The motorcyclist reportedly swerved on Route Marie-Victorin, also known as Route 132, in Baie-du-Febvre.
The 46-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on Route 132 and for some unknown reason he would have left the road, said Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the SQ.
The man from Rivière-Rouge was transported in critical condition to a hospital and his death was unfortunately confirmed at the start of the evening.
A scene was erected at the scene of the accident to better understand what happened. The investigation is continuing.
