(Montreal) A 75-year-old woman lost her life after being hit by a passenger train in Centre-du-Québec on Sunday morning.
The collision occurred on Range 3 from Simpson to Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover at 10 a.m.
According to initial information, the pedestrian was crossing the level crossing while the safety barriers were lowered when she was hit by the train. His death was noted on site, said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Stéphane Tremblay.
A man who was with him was treated for nervous shock and taken to hospital.
An investigation is underway.
There were no injuries among the train passengers.
