(Quebec) A 19-year-old young man died in a road trip overnight from Friday to Saturday, in Saint-Pie-de-Guire, in Center-du-Québec.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the police were called, around 3 a.m., to go to route 143.
As it left the road, the vehicle, which is the only one involved in the accident, rolled over and mowed two poles, said Sergeant Hélène St-Pierre, a spokesperson for the SQ.
The driver died of his injuries.
A passenger was taken to a hospital for serious injuries, but his life would not be in danger, police said.
“At first glance, one might think that the speed could be involved in this event,” limited herself to specifying Sergeant St-Pierre.
Route 143 was closed to traffic in order to allow a collision scene investigator to analyze the scene and try to shed light on the circumstances of the road departure.
