Motions of censorship: “Do you want to play instability?”, Launches Clément Beaune to LR deputies

“Do you want to add difficulty to difficulty? Do you want to play instability?”, launches the Minister Delegate in charge of Transport to the deputies Les Républicains (LR) who intend to vote the motions of censure against the government Monday afternoon in the National Assembly. Clément Beaune addresses in particular the LR deputy for Lot, Aurélien Pradié, whom he accuses of having “abandoned all form of coherence” and of “carry out a notoriety campaign” by denouncing the pension reform. “His group in the National Assembly and the Senate was widely represented in the Joint Joint Committee and obtained new advances on long careers”, justifies Clément Beaune. Even if he “don’t think the motions of censure will be passed”the Delegate Minister in charge of Transport finds that it is “Too bad that some prefer to be mavericks than politicians”.

Fuels: “If necessary, we will not hesitate” to requisition

“If it were necessary, we will not hesitate” to resort to requisitions in refineries, warns the minister, while the social movement continues in refineries. Clément Beaune explains that this decision “of last resort” will be decided “to avoid an economic and traffic blockage”. If he recognizes that there is “stressful situations” in certain sectors, “we are not at the time of requisitions”, as was the case during a previous social movement in October. The Minister ensures that all “the six French refineries are experiencing a number of disturbances”but not at the same level since some “local situations are more worrying, especially the Bouches-du-Rhône”. To avoid fuel shortages at service stations, the government has “taken anticipatory measures”as “the reconstitution of strategic stocks”.

Pension reform: “We will have no weakness, no laxity” with regard to thugs

“We will have no weakness, no laxity”launched Clément Beaune on Monday with regard to “those who commit violence” on the sidelines of the mobilizations against the pension reform. The Minister denounces the “totally unspeakable and unjustifiable violence” which may have taken place since Thursday and recourse to Article 49.3 of the Constitution. He condemns without common measure “attacks on parliamentary offices” And “the intimidation” or threats received by several deputies of the presidential majority. “It’s not the Republic, it’s not social mobilization, it’s pure and simple violence that calls for a response of public order and calm”believes Clément Beaune.

Pension reform: Clément Beaune “does not fear a return of yellow vests”

While a new day of interprofessional mobilization is scheduled for Thursday, Clément Beaune “do not fear a return of the Yellow Vests”. The minister thus responds to the alerts of many trade unionists, such as Laurent Berger of the CFDT who highlights the progress made by the movement of yellow vests, which are nevertheless less numerous in the streets. Clément Beaune refuses to “give right, in any way, to violence which is not accompanied by any claim”. However, he believes that it is necessary “hear the mobilization” and in particular the fact that there were in the ranks “a deeper malaise expressed in public service, purchasing power, wages and working conditions” : “It forces us to have a social agenda, to work on the future Employment and Labor law so that the employment of seniors is upgraded, so that gender inequalities are better dealt with in companies”he says.

Proposal for a salary increase for Patrick Pouyanné: “We could have done without it”, believes Clément Beaune

While the board of directors of TotalEnergies will propose at the end of May to increase the remuneration of its CEO Patrick Pouyanné by 10%, the Minister Delegate in charge of Transport estimates that “could have done without” in the current inflationary environment. He considers that “everyone must make an effort to be sober” in the face of pressure on purchasing power, all the more so as these “increase measures may seem extremely high for many French people, because they go beyond inflation”.

Olympic Games 2024: transport during the Games is “a major challenge, but we are in the process of achieving it”

The public transport offer during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris next year is a major challenge, but we are succeeding”, assures Clément Beaune. He argues that all “will be ready”, particularly on the infrastructure side. The Delegate Minister for Transport explains that he brings together “every six weeks all transport players to make a specific point” on the progress of the work and the schedule. He recalls that line extensions or new lines will be maintained after the Games and “will provide solutions to public transport galleys” in Ile-de-France. However, it will be necessary to expect some congestion on the lines between the spectators and the Ile-de-France residents who will not be on vacation during this period. Clément Beaune indicates that he “From next fall, there will undoubtedly be organizational instructions for companies and for people who stay to work in Île-de-France”without giving details.

End of thermal vehicles: “If we don’t choose electric, we put ourselves in the hands of the Chinese”

“France will defend the commitments made” on the end of sales of combustion engine cars in the European Union in 2035 “with great determination, because it is essential from an ecological point of view”, promises the minister on Monday. Clément Beaune is therefore displayed in opposition to Germany, Italy or Poland, which are recalcitrant with regard to this ban. For Clément Beaune, if Europe does not “don’t choose electric”if it does not take “not the turn of the electric [elle] puts itself in the hands of the Chinese”. The French Minister therefore calls on the European Union to “to make this courageous, but difficult choice”. Clément Beaune also asserts that the State “come to support” these measures “through subsidies, investment aid”.
