At the end of the year, we finally find the Quebec singer on the album “Heritage Goldman 2” released on December 2 in tribute to her favorite author, signatory in particular of “Pour que tu m’aimes encore”. Great news after months of absence from its audience. Victim of muscle spasms, fans were very saddened to see her so thin and weakened in each of her last appearances. On April 29, Celine Dion gave her last news to announce a postponement of her tour: “The good news is that I still feel a little better. Doctors follow me and I receive treatments but I still have muscle spasms. Recovery is taking a lot longer than I thought.”
Concerts and a film for 2023?
We believed it! According to recent information from RTL, the star was to resume his tour in less than three months, on Friday February 24, 2023 in Prague. The entourage, according to the radio station, had confirmed that the schedule was maintained to this day. It was therefore 50 concerts scheduled for next year in 32 different cities. Including a first date in France: July 13 at the “Vieilles Charrues”, with the biggest fee in the history of the Festival! Then 6 dates, all sold out, at Paris La Défense-Aréna.
Unfortunately, this December 8, in an Instagram video, the star once again postponed his tour due to health reasons! She says it like this: “Recently I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called in English “Stiff person syndrome”, which affects approximately one person in a million. We do not yet know everything about this rare disease but we now know that it is the cause of the muscle spasms from which I suffer. Unfortunately, these spasms affect my daily life on many levels, I sometimes have great difficulty walking and I can’t always use my vocal cords to sing as I would like. It saddens me enormously to have to tell you today that I will not be ready to start my tour of Europe again in February. Just a fourth postponement, because of this autoimmune disease which causes terrible stiffness, but hopefully not a cancellation! It should go back to Amsterdam on August 26 and the Paris dates in September are still maintained. The “Vieilles Charrues” are well and truly cancelled.
In the meantime, we will be able to find the singer at the cinema in “Love Again”, a romantic comedy which will be released on June 7 where she will play her own role and where she will interpret a new title. And the artist is currently looking for authors for a next disc in French! Decidedly, a great return that is long overdue for this adored diva of the French.
