The Quebec singer was to visit 16 North American cities between March 9 and April 22. These shows, which were originally scheduled to run from August 16 to September 24, 2021, had already been postponed due to the pandemic. They are now completely cancelled.

“Severe and persistent” muscle spasms prevent him from performing, a press release explains. Although her medical team continues to assess her condition and treat her, her recovery “is taking longer than she expected”.

Last October, Celine Dion had also postponed to an indefinite date the series of shows she was to present at the new Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas from November 5 to 20, 2021 and then from January 19 to February 5, 2022, due to these same muscle spasms.

“I was really hoping to be ready to go back on stage now, but I find that I have to be more patient and follow the recommendations of my doctors,” Celine Dion said in a press release.

“Our shows require a lot of organization and preparation, so we have to make decisions today that will affect plans two months from now,” she continues. I will be so happy when I get healthy again, the pandemic is behind us and I get on stage again. »

Celine Dion then thanks her fans for all the words of encouragement she has received on social networks. “I feel your love and support and it means a lot to me. »

The European portion of the tour Courage, which is due to start on May 25 in Birmingham, England, is also still on the schedule.
