“The folder is empty“confided Me Jean-Baptiste Alary, one of Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers, yet considered the number one suspect in the disappearance of his wife Delphine, who has not given any sign of life since the night of December 15 to 16 2020. So, will the painter-plasterer be released soon, for lack of tangible and concrete evidence? Not so sure since for its part, the justice indicates to have “a bundle of serious and concordant clues“against Louis and Elyah’s dad.
“There are people who have admitted having participated in an offense, sometimes a serious offense, who for all that are under judicial control and are therefore free. Why not him, when he disputes the facts and there is no evidence against him?“, however also wondered the lawyer who does not seem to understand why his client is kept in detention.
Convinced of the innocence of their client, his lawyers have already in the past made multiple requests for release since his imprisonment for “spousal homicide” on June 18. After unsuccessfully appealing the detention of Cédric Jubillar in early July and denouncing his conditions of detention, they then presented in August a request for release, also rejected in September. More recently, a new request for release was rejected on November 22, 2021. Cédric’s lawyers again appealed against this decision. Their request will be considered on January 11, 2021.
As a reminder, Cédric’s new companion was also arrested on December 15, 2021 for “complicity in the concealment of a corpse” after a fellow inmate claimed that she was aware of the location of Delphine’s body. Questioned by the gendarmes of Gaillac, she finally came out free the next day, without charges. Exhausted by this legal case, she has since decided to flee the Tarn region.
Cédric Jubillar remains presumed innocent of the facts with which he is accused until the final judgment of this case.
