Cédric Jubillar remains in prison after almost a year in pre-trial detention

Cédric Jubillar remains in prison. The liberties and detention judge ruled against his request for conditional release. The hearing took place last Thursday, June 9th.

So far, all his requests for release have been denied. Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers have announced their intention to appeal.

Last Thursday’s hearing was different from previous release hearings. It gave rise to a debate between the prosecution and Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers. The previous requests had been examined by the investigating chamber, with pleadings from the defense and the civil parties.

This last hearing had raised hopes for the defense of Cedric Jubillar: after a year of investigation and instruction, Delphine Jubillar has still not been found and no murder weapon has been discovered.

Cédric Jubillar is suspected of the murder of his wife Delphine, who disappeared a year and a half ago in Cagnac-les-Mines in the Tarn. The nurse, mother of two children, has not given any sign of life since the night of December 15 to 16, 2020.

The gendarmes are continuing their investigations, in search of the body of Delphine Jubillar.
