CCP leadership candidate sued by former campaign manager

Conservative MP and leadership candidate Leslyn Lewis is being sued by her former campaign manager, who argues he was not fully paid for his work in the 2020 leadership race.

John Mykytyshyn is seeking $175,000, the amount which for him represents part of the amount owed to him and additional compensation for the manner in which he was fired according to a statement filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Tuesday and shared speak Toronto Star jThursday.

The allegations, however, have not been proven, the Lewis camp shares

“This lawsuit brought by a disgruntled former contractor from Dr.r Lewis was designed only to embarrass her,” contestant attorney Darryl Singer shared in an email to The Star. “In fact, it is Mr Mykytyshyn who will be embarrassed when the truth of the allegations is revealed in court, and the Dr Lewis is eager to defend his stellar reputation in a possible trial. »

Mme Lewis is the Member of Parliament for Haldimand-Norfolk, located in the Toronto area. Perceived in the party as being a social conservative, she notably questioned the relevance of vaccinating children against COVID-19. In 2020 during the leadership race, she finished third.
