Legalized for a year in France, this hemp derivative is a hit with all ages. It is particularly prized for its relaxing properties

In recent months, CBD shops have been growing at a breakneck pace, with more and more customers. There are sweets, oil, herbal tea, cosmetics and even food supplements. CBD is not a drug, but a variety of hemp, like cannabis, except that it contains less than 0.2% THC, a mind-altering substance. It is therefore not considered to be a narcotic. Since its legalization last year in France, 1,500 stores have been opened.

“I see more and more diverse clients, whether they are older, younger, or senior executives turning to CBD as a natural alternative for their well-being and for relaxation,” explains Nicolas Chevalier, manager of Greener shop CBD. To produce the precious holy grail, the THC level must absolutely be regulatory and French hemp workers would like certain restrictions to be lightened, to allow the creation of a real agricultural sector in the field. Today, nearly 10% of French people consume CBD. A market that could represent 700 million euros by next year
