CBC/Radio-Canada suspends coverage in Russia

In response to the adoption of new legislation aimed at criminalizing neutral and impartial reporting by reporters, CBC/Radio-Canada announces that it is suspending its journalistic activities in Russia.

As Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine, the public broadcaster says it is “deeply concerned” and wants to take “the time to clarify the scope of this new law”. This means that the correspondent in place for French television and radio of Radio-Canada, Tamara Alteresco, will have to leave the country as soon as possible.
