Cayden Primeau back with the Laval Rocket

(Brossard) The Montreal Canadiens said they assigned goaltender Cayden Primeau to the Laval Rocket on Wednesday morning.

Primeau had been called up urgently by the Habs on January 9, to come and assist Samuel Montembeault in anticipation of the game played in the evening against the Seattle Kraken.

Primeau had to be recalled because of the “upper body” injury that Jake Allen had suffered so far. The CH has still not confirmed Allen’s return to play, but the decision to assign Primeau to the Rocket could open the door.

Allen’s condition has been reassessed on a daily basis until now.

Primeau played one spell with the Bleu-blanc-rouge this season – on January 19, he conceded one goal on seven shots in a 6-2 loss against the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre.

In the American League, he is 4-6-3 in 13 games with the Rocket, with a 3.65 goals-against-average and .890 save percentage.
