Cauet mourns the death of a famous French humorist

The year 2021 ends slowly and everyone thinks of those they have crossed, met or unfortunately lost. From his Instagram story, Cauet paid tribute to a comedian he particularly liked and who left us too quickly. The radio host posted a photo of himself and Jean-Yves Lafesse captioning “Dirty year 2021, I came across this photo.

On July 23, we learned with great sadness the death of Jean-Yves Lafesse at the age of 64. He was suffering from Charcot’s disease, diagnosed a year ago, his family had indicated, adding that “his condition had suddenly deteriorated in the last 24 hours”. It is a whole section of French humor that wept that day this precursor with a big heart. Le Breton, who died in Vannes, left behind a wife and four children. Jean-Yves Lafesse had granted rare confessions in 2015 in the columns of France Dimanche. The comedian had confided to having bought an unusual gift for his offspring. “When they were younger, I bought them a piece of land on the Moon. A lawyer was selling it by plots because he felt that it did not belong to anyone“, he congratulated himself.

One of his daughters, Jeanne, has also inherited his sense of the farce. “When she was 6, my daughter Jeanne made a phone joke to the fire department. I told him it was wrong. These guys risk their lives everyday for us, they got other things to do“, he said.

Known to the general public since the mid-1980s, Jean-Yves Lafesse was the author of numerous telephone hoaxes carried out in the middle of the street with passers-by who were often surprised. The comedian then turned to radio, notably joining Europe 1, before turning to TV.
