Relations are strained between NRJ and Be Aware, Sébastien Cauet’s production company. Since last November, Be Aware and Cauet have been deprived of airtime, and the show he hosts C’Cauet is no longer broadcast due to the accusations of rape against him, which were brought by five years. If he had initially complied with the withdrawal of the antenna, and had claimed on X to have himself asked his employers, the host has since backtracked, and wishes to return to his position. A return that NRJ categorically refuses, and which means that the employer and the host will find themselves this Monday, March 18, 2024 before the commercial court.
Indeed, as revealed The Parisian, the Paris commercial court, seized by Sébastien Cauet, will have to decide on the dispute between NRJ and Be Aware. The production company of the NRJ strongman attacked Jean-Paul Baudecroux’s station to demand “performance of his contract”. If the court rules in favor of the host, the latter will be able, without delay, to resume the NRJ antenna, despite the opening of a preliminary investigation for “rape of a minor over fifteen years old” and “rape”, accusations which he contests with the greatest firmness.
If he does not return to the air, he demands severance pay
If the commercial court rules in favor of the radio station and vetoes Sébastien Cauet’s return to the air, the latter has made it known through his lawyer Frédéric Lamoureux that he wished to assert his rights of “breach of contract” and the payment of compensation to which he is entitledin accordance with the contract they have concluded since 2010 and the launch of C’Cauet. For the moment, Sébastien Cauet remains presumed innocent of the facts with which he is accused, and against which he retaliated by filing a complaint for “slanderous denunciations” and “attempted extortion of funds by an organized gang”. Five women in total accuse him, and a final complaint was filed less than a month ago by a 45-year-old woman, who said she was raped in the 1990sbarely an adult, on the sidelines of a business trip.
