A film about Jacques Chirac’s wife is released in theaters, with actress Catherine Deneuve in the lead role.
Bernadette Chirac was a shadowy woman who became as famous as her husband, the President of the Republic. In the movie “Bernadette”, Catherine Deneuve plays a funny and vengeful woman. Wednesday September 13 in the evening in Paris, the film team presented its preview. “It’s a real character who inspired me to write a fiction for its funny, slightly irreverent side and above all for its story. A woman’s revenge is what I tell in the film”confides Léa Domenach, director of Bernadette.
“It’s jubilant”
This is Léa Domenach’s first production, with screenwriter Clémence Dargent, Who therefore recounts a major period in the life of Bernadette Chirac at the Élysée, between 1995 and 2006. An hour and a half of comedy which received a standing ovation from the public. “It’s jubilant”, indicates a spectator. The theatrical release is scheduled for next Wednesday, October 4.
