Chrystia Freeland has let it be known on her Twitter account that she will be doing the exercise remotely because two members of her team have tested positive for rapid COVID-19 tests.

The minister reports that these two people are in isolation and that she has not been in recent contact with them.

“The rest of my team received negative results on their antigen tests. I received two negative molecular tests today, ”she reports in a series of tweets.

“Because you can never be too careful, I will virtually present the economic and budgetary update,” she announced.

The work in the Commons is held in a hybrid way, allowing elected officials to participate in person or via screen.

This format was adopted in the first week of MPs returning to Ottawa, thanks to a motion introduced by the Liberal government and seconded by the New Democrats.
