Carte blanche to Kim Lévesque Lizotte | Let nothing move

With their unique pen and their own sensitivity, artists present to us their vision of the world around us. This week, we give carte blanche to author, screenwriter and columnist Kim Lévesque Lizotte.

The world we live in is perfect, I ask for the status quo, I ask that nothing changes.

Everything is settled, as I am often reminded when I point out that, despite progress, there is still work to do to achieve equality. Not only is everything settled, but according to some people, we live in a world where the progressive left, led by woke eager to suppress freedom of expression, would have taken power and that things should be rebalanced a little because it goes too far.

Recently, six smiling men of power cut a ribbon for a battery factory. Great job. A beautiful lineage of humans without women, without color and without gender fluidity. A beautiful, pure line of trustworthy men who want our best. While schools, hospitals and the justice system are starving and reaching out, the billions are being spread on foreign projects. Get back up and dig in. It’s going to take metals to make your Northvolt run. We will educate ourselves, we will heal ourselves and we will resume our pursuits when the mines are emptied and the tanks are flying.

In this world where everything is settled, social rehabilitation is very important. That we decancela the abusers, the beaters, the perverts, that we forgive them and that we in turn listen to them talk about their traumas, their lives which have been unjustly turned upside down. Let’s listen to their interviews over two hours to understand them. As for their attention-starved victims, let’s shame them for daring to spill their guts on the web or in the newspapers.

And what about these young Zs, ignorant, with their noses always in their phones? When they are interested in history and want to debunk the statues, let us blame them for their new perceptions of history and the fact of having an increased sensitivity! Go back to your Instagrams and your breakfast smoothies, you poor fools, the story only belongs to us!

Let us let fear invade us and rot us and let it flow into our veins. Fear of the other, of the migrant, of the feminist, of the non-binary person, of parents whose children question their gender. Let’s continue to stigmatize those who are different. Let’s accuse them of wanting us cancel as soon as they retort, let’s raise the red flag of freedom of expression as soon as they express themselves, let’s stamp them with a big W of the word woke as soon as they criticize, and let’s block them out boy clubs as soon as they complain.

If they try to raise our awareness, to advance their simple causes, let’s ignore them, let them run out of steam walking in the street, let them sink under their signs, they will run out of steam wanting to be considered too much. Inflation should finish them off, we don’t have time to campaign when we can’t afford to pay our rent.

No more sarcasm and second degree. Sincerely :

  • 77.3% of senior business executives in my country are men, according to Statistics Canada.
  • In Quebec, women still earn $3.25/hour less than men, according to the Quebec Statistics Institute.
  • Still according to Statistics Canada, 51% of the teaching staff at universities in my country are men, but the majority of PhDs are women.

It is predicted that Pierre Poilievre could soon reign in the House of Commons, Éric Duhaime is gaining ground, and Donald Trump could technically one day become president again.

Where exactly is this country governed by wokewomen and immigrants?

Where are these people? canceled who can no longer work? Where are these great sages who can no longer speak?

Where is this feminized society where men no longer know what to say or how to act? Where is this “post-#metoo” which was supposed to change everything when dozens of teachers have been accused of assault on minors since the beginning of the year? None of which was a drag queen who reads a story while batting her eyelashes! Where is this world where women dominate when 184 of them were shot dead by their husbands in Canada in 2022?

Where is it, this world of drag queens who tell stories, of trans people who decide, of women who assert themselves, of non-binary people who expose themselves, of pansexual and polyamorous artists, of migrants who do not speak French ? Where is this beautiful society you are telling me about? I would like to be there to deploy, where everything is settled.

I am tired. Tired of being told that I live in a world where woke still reign, I feel crushed. And know that in my beautiful value line of intersectionality, I am well, well at the top, at the top, with fewer good reasons than the others to be exasperated.

But what are you afraid of, poor mortals? That people love each other differently? Still in 2023, we must enter into social conventions to have the right to be treated as a full human being, who only asks to be accepted and loved? That we recognize its value? Who does it help to dehumanize those who don’t fit into your pink and blue boxes? Who benefits, what?

By believing that the world has fallen into a drift that only exists in a story created from scratch by people who want to scare us, we are slowly missing out on a fairer, gentler, more tolerant society. , all this to keep power in place, in our respective roles, our hierarchical relationships and our definitions of WHAT LIVING IS. And this is how we should live, behave, exist. All at work, therefore, the women in their skirts and heels, and the real men in their suits and ties!

So, let’s resist, let’s fight to stay in our shackles, keep our chains and our minds tightly closed. Let’s continue to treat women as docile sex objects and trans people as deviants. May the rule of the white man persist forever with great blows of ribbon cut from the battery factory.

And we will have deserved every second of this imminent end of the world where no one was invited to the table, to find a solution, by living differently.
