Spaniard, 14e world player, for the first time titled in Masters 1000 on Sunday against the Pole Hubert Hurkacz (10e), was beaten in the tiebreaker after a 2:55 long fight against the Serb, 36e world player, author of 12 aces.
Kecmanovic, 22, will face Italian Jannik Sinner, 12e world, in the second round.
