At least three people died after a violent armed attack occurred in a residential building in front of the Montreal Heart Institute, in Rosemont, Friday morning.

The event occurred around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Bélanger and Viau streets. An individual in crisis was reportedly subdued with cayenne pepper and arrested by police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal.
A large security perimeter has been erected in the area to allow the police to collect all possible evidence.
