Thursday, April 14, the salary of the CEO of Stellantis, ex-PSA group, is controversial. Carlos Tavares will receive 19 million euros, to which could be added 47 million euros in bonus.
Carlos Tavares, CEO of the Stellantis group, ex-PSA group, will receive a salary of 19 million euros, including 2 million fixed salary. The boss could touch 47 million more if he meets his objectives. A salary of 66 million would be a record for a French boss. “We are at around 10, 15 times the average total compensation of a CAC 40 chairman, so it’s completely disproportionate”says Loïc Dessaint, CEO of Proxinvest.
This remuneration was rejected, Wednesday, April 13, by the shareholders of the company, during a general meeting. This vote has been taken into account by the management, which still wishes to attribute this salary to Carlos Tavares. “It is in the values of Stellantis to pay for performance”, advanced John Elkann, president of Stellantis. In front of the Sochaux factory (Doubs), an employee notices “66 million, it could create jobs here”.
