Goaltender Carey Price will play his first game this season when the Canadiens host the New York Islanders at the Bell Center on Friday night.
Interim head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed the news after morning practice.
Price hasn’t played since July 7, 2021, when the Canadiens surrendered to the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
