Carey Price is still in town

Carey Price’s goaltending career is virtually over. But that does not prevent him from attending certain events held in the metropolis.

This was the case this weekend, when he and his wife were spotted near the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit and in various social events held as part of the Grand Prix du Canada.

Yes, the Prices put their house in Candiac up for sale at the beginning of May. A sublime residence listed at nearly $2 million. However, since the school year is not yet over, they have not yet moved their household to Kelowna, British Columbia, where they usually spend part of the summer. Which should be done at the end of the month. Moreover, recently, Angela, the caretaker’s wife, revealed the attractions of this majestic residence where modern aesthetics, rustic charm and clean lines blend perfectly.

An asset for the Canadian

Victim of recurring knee pain, Price will probably no longer wear his leggings. However, he still remains under contract with the Habs for the next three seasons. If he will no longer be useful to Kent Hughes on the ice, the winningest goaltender in the history of the Canadiens will greatly serve his cause in the accounting books of the team.

Since Hughes has virtually no wiggle room under the salary cap, placing Price’s name on the long-term injured list allows him nearly $10.5 million in tax relief.

So it would be surprising if Price moved to another team like Shea Weber, traded to Vegas in June 2022.

During his 15-season career, Price set franchise records for games played (712) and wins (361). His 49 shutouts put him third behind George Hainsworth’s 75 and Jacques Plante’s 58. First Round Pick (5e in total) of the Habs in 2005, he won the Hart, Lindsay, Vézina and Jennings trophies at the end of the 2014-2015 season. He added the Bill-Masterton to his collection in 2021-22.
